Unwitting Bad Dude!
You’re weary. You’re frustrated. You’re unhappy. You’re demotivated. Your interaction with your boss leaves you cold. He’s a bully, intrusive, controlling, picky or petty. He’s a complete arse and and misses each meeting he schedules with you.
He’s a bad dude, bad to the bone. Dealing with a less than effective manager, or just plain bad managers, is a challenge way too many employees face these days.
Sure you can talk to him or her, you can ask how you can help with his/her goals, and seek a mentor from among other manager, but you’re definitely going to end up being the black sheep in the crowd.
So, if nothing works…A get HR involved. They’re usually good on giving advise but remember, HR does not really have that much power.
If you think the problem is that your boss can’t or won’t change, then may the force be with you :-), I wish your luck my friend.
