Show me the money!
It’s Monday morning and I can’t sleep anymore. Either I am too excited for the start of the work-week, or I am too depressed and cannot sleep ;-). Anyway, today is Christmas for us Canadians all over again. Well, sort of… Today we will be blessed with a new federal budget which is designed to shows us the money and hopefully to back up Mr. Harper’s bid to lay claim to middle-class voters. (Yes, you guessed it, a Conservative pre-election battle plan.)
Our finance minister Mr. Jim Flaherty has promised a little something for everyone in today’s budget. He has advertised it to be packed with spending, tax cuts and billions of $ to fatten provincial government coffers. Some say he’s he is running for Ms. Universe! :-) But Mr. Flaherty is really daring the federal opposition parties to try to bring down the government and force an election over his economic and fiscal package.
Let’s wait and see, shall we? For now, all I have to say is: “Mr. Flaherty, pleeeeease show me the money!”
