With special thanks to Queen Victoria, today is not a work day — but instead a day for rest and relaxation ;-).
To my surprize! :-o, almost 22% of Canadians believe today is time to honour the reign of late Queen Victoria. Most Canucks would rather to be kings and queens of leisure on this great (and hopefully sunny) long weekend than spend time contemplating the longest-serving British monarch in history. While Victoria Day honours the birthday of the late Queen Victoria and is the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, most of us, 78% based on some survey …Â feel that today is “just a time to relax and have an extra day off”.
So be it. I am all for that :-). Let the fun begin…
