Netiquette!
I receive many e-mails per day. Most e-mails I read are well written while some are not. Some e-mails are too lengthy, and some could really do with a bit more information in them. Some e-mails get right to the point — the writer wastes no time and asks for what he/she wants without looking below to see who he/she is treading on! And some folks use shorthand like u, plz, l8r, k, etc. etc. Sometimes there are glaring errors such as misspellings and poor grammar (probably mine).
Dude, because your correspondence says a lot about you, you should be aware of some basic e-mail etiquette, aka netiquette :-).
It is amazing to find that in this day and age, some people have still not realized how important their e-mail communications are. Many people send e-mail replies late or not at all, or send replies that do not actually answer the questions you asked. If you are able to deal professionally with e-mails, then you are providing your company with that all important competitive edge.
I am not going to go into the details of e-mail etiquettes, but we all have to realize that e-mail will often be our first, or sometimes, our only point of contact with other people!
