Blue Moon Wish!
It happens only once in a blue moon — and a blue moon is exactly what we’ll see in the skies this New Year’s Eve. Don’t expect an azure glow over our lunar satellite, however. The term “blue moon” simply refers to the second full moon in a calendar month, something that hasn’t happened on a New Year’s Eve for nearly 20 years. We first saw the full moon on Dec 2, and it will reappear New Year’s Eve.
Blue moon means something absurd or impossible. It is somewhat unrelated to the actual moon, which becomes full every 30 days. A New Year’s Eve blue moon only happens every 20 years.
European, indigenous and pagan cultures all consider it lucky to make wishes under a blue moon.The legend goes repeating a wish three times while standing unclothed in its bright light will come true.
