Tryp Peninsula
I spent a week at the Tryp Peninsula in Varadero Cuba. This was my first time to Cuba so I didn’t have high expectations since I was pre-warned about Cuba, it’s poverty etc.
I’m glad I didn’t listen to anyone and decided to judge for myself.
The main reason for choosing this resort was the Kids Club. What sold me was the large kiddie pool and two water slides.
Check In was great! Quick and easy. The Staff rocked! They did what they could to make your stay a happy one. Cubans as you all probably know don’t get paid very much for what they do. So to see these people work long hard hours to serve you while you’re enjoying their county is something to appreciate. This is why I chose to be generous whenever deserved. Bartenders, wait staff, maids bell boy etc all worked hard to make our experience a great one.
The Beach was gorgeous. Soft white sand, surrounded by crystal clear blue water. It was clean and clam all week. The Weather was great! Hight 20′s to low 30′s throughout the day, sunny with a bit of welcomed clouds every once in awhile. It rainedA one morning, but the weather cleared up in the afternoon. The nights were spectacular. There was a constant ocean breeze that cooled your sunburn while your sipping on your Rum cocktail watching the animation staff entertain. The shows were great.
The kids club was the main reason we chose this hotel. The staff there was great. Really eager to please the kids. They had activities throughout the day and made sure the kids were well entertained.
Overall I rate this Hotel a 9 out of 10. The people are genuine, the service is excellent and the country is truly beautiful.
I just hope one day Cuba is able to resolve their political issues, so that they can evolve in being not just a great tourist destination but a great country for their people.
