Being Realistic

| Sep 18, 2009

I define myself as being cautiously positive.  There are those who say, “You can do anything you set your mind to” are simply unrealistic. Some things are just not possible. If today I thought I could beat Usain Bolt’s 100 meter record, I’d need a shrink more than a coach. No matter how hard I train or how much steroids I take, it won’t happen, ever!

However,

We all encounter roadblocks and obstacles that block our progress. But when we do, we have options. We can remain positive, walk away, climb over, go under,  or go around it. We can also break through obstacles or have them demolished. This is all done by being realistic, and setting goals. As hard as it is, being realistic is probably the biggest key to setting goals that you’ll be able to achieve. If you can do this, you stand a good chance of getting through life with as few disappointments as possible. This is “La verdad”.
